Fire Chief Welcome

Welcome to the Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue website. We hope to reach out to the community and provide safety tips, fire prevention techniques, and useful resources.

The department has been in service since 1955, and began with the merger of 2 departments.

The men and women that make up the department are your neighbors, friends, and relatives, and are actively involved in the community. We are striving to make this a better place to work, live and raise your family.

Facilities

Sheldon Community Fire and Rescue has a long-standing commitment and history of providing a rapid response time from one of our 4 stations.

Personnel

We are staffed by personnel that consider the community and residents their home and family.

Join ABC13 and Shell USA for their 17th Earth Day E-Cylce Drive! Bring your old or unwanted electronics to CompuCycle (8019 Kempwood Dr.) Friday from 6a-5p. Reduce and responsibly recycle E-Waste.

SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2024
9:00am-11:00am
1911 W. 34tStreet
This is the next registered tree giveaway event at Kinder Campus. There will be three (5) tree species available:
Premier Blueberry
Fuji Apple
Salavatski Pomegranate
Early Golden Apricot
Shinseiki Pear
Registrants will be able to receive a maximum of five (5) trees (any species combo) per car while supplies last.

Tree pick-ups will be based on last name:
A-L 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
M-Z 10 a.m. - 11 a.m.

The increased popularity and demand for tree giveaways have exceeded Trees for Houston expectations, and having smaller, registered events like this allows them to host them more frequently, making it possible for to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to receive the species and quantity of trees they'd like.
REGISTER at: signupgenius.com or see their website at: treesforhiuston.org
Please rest assured that your trees will be waiting for you, so there is no need to get in line early or arrive before your allotted time slot. The outlet locations are working places of business, and we want to ensure we respect their space and entrances. Please do not form a line or block entrances along 34th Street. If you are not registered, you will not receive trees.

At this time, they are unable to hold trees that are not picked up.

Thank you for your support, patience, and deep passion to help us live the TFH mission. We hope that as they continue to grow, their programs, like tree giveaways, will also continue to evolve to make them an easy and efficient experience for all.

Self-Preservation just ain’t what it used to be

That's a nice stat but why is it ok for adults to ride motorcycles without helmets but laws force adults rising inside a car to wear a seat belt. Stupid is as stupid does. 🙄 if I'm an adult with health insurance...who does it harm if I drive without a seat belt?!?!? That's all...thanks for everything yall do at fire and emt
