We would like to congratulate probationary firefighters Ty Harris and Jonathan Marquez for successfully completing their 1 year probationary phase test. The Asst. Chief was delivered his new Truck today. We have begun switching out officers vehicles to all red instead of all white. This vehicle is outfitted as a command vehicle.
This week we sent the other half of our Full-Time firefighters to training in New Braunfels to become certified Swiftwater Rescue Technicians. Congratulations A-Shift and D-Shift.
Last week Our full-time Firefighters on B-Shift and C-Shift were sent to New Braunfels for Swiftwater Rescue Training. They trained on day time and night time operations. Sheldon Community Fire and Rescue just got in our new High Profile Vehicle. Needs a new red paint job. Thanks to Probationary FF. Hernan Venegas for being involved with getting this vehicle donated to our department.
Construction has begun on our Training Tower and Burn Building.
Sheldon Community Fire and Rescue’s Tanker 13 was dispatched early this morning to assist Northwest Fire Department with a 3-Alarm recycling plant fire.
WR-23 being started up for the first time. This Rescue ONE Connector Boats was recently purchased and crews are being trained to operate it, along with taking swiftwater rescue classes coming up in April and May.
Here is the rendering for our new Paul V. Reed Training Burn Building. Construction of this Training facility has begun and we plan on it being finished sometime in June.
