Welcome to the Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue website. We hope to reach out to the community and provide safety tips, fire prevention techniques, and useful resources.
The department has been in service since 1955, and began with the merger of 2 departments.
The men and women that make up the department are your neighbors, friends, and relatives, and are actively involved in the community. We are striving to make this a better place to work, live and raise your family.

90% chance of rain predicted for Sunday—the ground is saturated from Saturday’s showers and the possibility of motor vehicle accidents (MVA) are increased with rain. Plan to be safe! 🚙
MVA: Crosby Frwy west of Miller Road 3; call originally came in as a motor vehicle accident involving 18 wheeler. Upon arrival Sta. No. 1 Engine 13 realized it was an extrication, using the Jaws of Life. Two transported by South Lake Houston EMS. Cause unknown.

RECYCLING EVENT - EVERY 3rd Saturday of the month at the Miller Road county site (15530 Miller Road 1, 8am-1pm). It was a good thing to see residents disposing of landscaping and fence pickets properly instead of into the ditches, etc.

ON LOCATION: MVA—Sheldon Rd. @ Miller Rd. 1, motorcycle vs. SUV, occupants out and alert, one transported via South Lake Houston EMS. Probable cause failure to control speed at intersection with traffic light.

Busy Day
It’s been a busy and exciting day for us here in Sheldon. We were dispatched to 2 working vehicle fires back to back. While units were clearing those calls we were dispatched to a working RV Fire that was brought under control quickly. Then when E13 made it back to the station they had something waiting for them! Our brand new Rescue Boat and Zodiac Rescue Boat. This unit will be WR-23. Great work today [...]
