Our History

In a merger between two departments in October 1996, the Sheldon Community Fire and Rescue was established. We service a district of 60.3 square miles and serve a community of approximately 185,000 residents. Our department has four fire stations and a staff of around 78 members. The 60.3 square miles covered by our department starts at the North Sam Houston Parkway East at Lockwood Drive, south to North Channel, east to the San Jacinto River, and west to Sheridan Road.
