Welcome to the Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue website. We hope to reach out to the community and provide safety tips, fire prevention techniques, and useful resources.
The department has been in service since 1955, and began with the merger of 2 departments.
The men and women that make up the department are your neighbors, friends, and relatives, and are actively involved in the community. We are striving to make this a better place to work, live and raise your family.

IT’S TUESDAY and a beautiful day to do some Pump Ops training at our Sta. No. 2 💦
MAJOR MVA: Three vehicles, all occupants out, mobile and alert being evaluated by South Lake Houston EMS and Harris Co. ESD 5; truck in ditch had one of our own firefighters (who was with his family including a small child) and another person will be transported. Cause reported to be stop 🛑 sign runner.

NO TRAFFIC is able to pass either way.

Update- 20140402
Today D23, E23, and Cas23 assisted Crosby Volunteer Fire Department with a large fire at the KMCO plant. Our thoughts are with all those involved, from the KMCO workers to all the first responders on the scene and anyone that this may have affected.
New Training Tower
Today we had a walkthrough of our new training tower with Fire Facilities. They showed us the ins and outs of the building and how to work it. Our crews from A shift then did some training burns in the building. We are very excited to have the training tower up and running. Here’s a few photos from our test burns today.
