Welcome to the Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue website. We hope to reach out to the community and provide safety tips, fire prevention techniques, and useful resources.
The department has been in service since 1955, and began with the merger of 2 departments.
The men and women that make up the department are your neighbors, friends, and relatives, and are actively involved in the community. We are striving to make this a better place to work, live and raise your family.

Update- 20190128
A busy few days for our crews. On sat morning at approximately 6:28 am D23 and E23 were dispatched to a commercial vehicle fire on the Crosby Fwy at Sheldon Rd. D23 arrived on scene and found a trash truck that had dumped its burning load on the side of the Crosby Freeway. Our crews got the fire under control quickly and no injuries were reported. Recognizing our 41st President
Earlier today District Capt. Isaac Pinson, Engine Operator Chris McCrary and Firefighter Hernan Venegas went to send off our 41st President at 45 and Louetta as Train 4141 passed under neither. D23 staged with multiple other fire departments from around Harris county. Thank you for your service President Bush.
